CarFest Buddies

The CarFest Buddies Facebook Group is the go-to hub for thousands of like-minded individuals passionate about the family-friendly festival, CarFest.

Connect with fellow attendees, share your enthusiasm, make new friends and enhance your CarFest experience.

CarFest was created back in 2011 by Virgin Radio presenter Chris Evans. The idea was to create a family friendly event packed with cars, food, and music to raise funds for UK Children’s Charities. Since then, the festival has raised nearly £30 million for the charities it supports.

The CarFest Buddies Facebook group was created by Lisa, after having a fabulous time attending the event. The aim was to keep the CarFest experience alive, to connect with other people who loved the event, and to share information. The group grew quickly, and soon Lisa was joined by Penny, Michelle, Mel, and Keith to help with the administration of the group.

The group has become a mine of information for the event, with members sharing their love of all things CarFest, plus tips and advice for anyone attending. Currently, the group has around 18,000 members!

In 2015, Penny had the idea of producing a badge so that members of the group could recognise each other at the event and to raise some extra funds for Children in Need. To date, we have raised over £10,000 selling badges, car stickers and other merchandise.

This year, we will have our own stand on site, situated in the StarFest area and our mission is to encourage the Buddies to become a significant fundraising force for the charities supported by the event.

Along with a new badge (pictured above) there will be a treasure hunt, a photo booth, an opportunity to write a thank-you letter to Chris Evans and our exciting new fundraising initiative Have-a-Go-Heroes.
